Research Elevenses - Discovering the University’s unique archives

Throughout July we are running a series of 30 minute talks on key issues for Leicester researchers. There’s no need to book - just turn up!   Next week: 6th July - Discovering the University’s unique archives 11am, Fielding Johnson, Ogden Lewis Seminar Room 3 This session will explain what archives are and give an overview of the archives held by the University of Leicester library.  Participants will also be introduced to the online archive catalogue and effective ways to locate archival sources to support teaching and research. If you are off-campus you can join in live via Adobe Connect. Simply click the link and choose ‘Enter as Guest’ on the day. A recording of each session will be made available after the event. 2016 Festival of Postgraduate Research

On Thursday 7th July the Graduate School will be hosting the annual Festival of Postgraduate Research.  The Festival is a key event in the University's calendar where we display to the world the impressive and ground-breaking research done by our postgraduate researchers. Fifty-five of the University of Leicester's best research students, selected competitively from our 1,700 member postgraduate research community, will present their cutting edge research to academics, employers, and the public at this year's Festival of Postgraduate Research. East Midlands Postgraduate Conference 2016

This year's  East Midlands University Association (EMUA) postgraduate research student conference will be hosted by Loughborough University .   The conference is great opportunity to  promote your work  and gain experience of presenting to academic audiences. It will be held on  Thursday 1st September. The theme is “Inspiring Futures” – they would like to hear about how your research can inspire a better future, so there's plenty of scope to be ambitious!  You might be designing a solution to a specific problem, discovering a new way of working or inspiring others to make change in the world.  The conference is open to all disciplines and approaches.
