Welcome to new PGR Students

Hello to new PGRs, We are part of the Library Research Services Team , and our role includes offering training and support to PhD students. As part of the Graduate School Induction we are providing parallel sessions on both Wednesday 2nd October and Friday 4th October: 09:30-10:00 Introduction to the Library OR Introduction to Reference Management 10:30-11:00 Introduction to the Library OR Introduction to Web Tools for Researchers 11:30-12:00 Introduction to Literature Searching OR Introduction to Research Data Management Places are limited and must be booked by Monday 30th September - to book your place, please complete the online form . We are also offering a range workshops throughout the autumn term, which are live on PROSE and ready to book. If the dates aren't suitable or you're based off-campus, remember that you can always request more help or a one-to-one appointment on any of the workshop topics. EndNote X7

EndNote X7 is now available on staff machines, and will be available in student computer labs during September. How to install EndNote X7 On staff machines go to Start - All Programs - Program Installer - Select EndNote X7 and click Install. New Features Sync with EndNote Web to access your references off-campus.  EndNote X5 allowed you to connect your EndNote desktop to EndNote Web but did not transfer groups and sync completely between the two versions. EndNote X7 now syncs all your references, attached PDFs and groups with EndNote Web. Instructions for creating and synching with an EndNote Web account . Categorize References within the Bibliography. EndNote X7 allows you to create categories within your bibliography and drag references into the correct categories:       Take a look at all the new EndNote X7 features:

RefWorks Write'N'Cite 4

The new RefWorks Write'N'Cite 4 (WNC4) toolbar for Word is now available on staff machines, and will be available in student computer labs during September. How to install WNC4 On staff machines go to Start - All Programs - Program Installer - Select RefWorks Write-N-Cite-4 and click Install. Once installed open Word and click on the RefWorks tab. Click login and enter the University of Leicester Group Code and your RefWorks username/password. If you do not know the group code then contact the library . If you are editing a document that has citations which were inserted using the previous version of Write'N'Cite (WNC3/III) then in the RefWorks tab click Preferences - Convert previous version of WnC - Convert.
