Giving your first conference paper as a PhD student can be a nervous experience. That's why the next Thesis Forum is on Public Speaking with Confidence. We have arranged for three speakers to share their experiences with you. H ear advice from Maribel Canto- Lopez ( Lecturer, Law), Richard Mbasu (PhD student, Cancer Studies)  and Katie Dexter ( PhD student, Physics and Astronomy).    The Thesis Forum is an informal event where PhD students from across the university can  discuss issues that matter to them. Library Search is the system you use to find books, eBooks, journals and other resources available from the Library.  It is available from the 'All' search option on the Library homepage .  A new, improved Library Search system  'goes live' from Monday 11 April 2016. There will be some limited changes to services while we implement the system. What's better about the new Library Search system? as well as books, eBooks and journals, you will be able to search our research archives, rare books, University exam papers, dissertations and theses all in one go; you can create and save lists of your favourite books and other resources; you can browse the Library shelves virtually; new items added to the Library (including digital resources such as eBooks) will become available for you to use more quickly. If you can't attend our Beginners Prezi training then there are lots of online resources you can use to train yourself instead. What is Prezi? It's an online presentation platform that gives you an alternative to using PowerPoint. You can see some examples of ways we've used Prezi on the Library Research Services Prezi Account and Prezi also have Staff Picks of some of the best presentations that use the software . Start Using Prezi First of all you need to sign-up for a free Educational Account - Choose Get Started and then the FREE plan. Use your University email address to create the account. Web of Science Search Web of Science for the article you are interested in. If you find it, click on the article title and then click on the Create Citation Alert link on the right-hand side of the page. You will need to login to, or create, a Web of Science account to activate the alert. Scopus Search Scopus for the article you are interested in. If you find it, click on the article title and then click on the Set Citation Alert link on the right-hand side of the page. You will need to login to, or create, a Scopus account to activate the alert. You can also set-up an RSS feed by clicking on the Set Citation Feed link.
