The David Wilson Library building will remain open but with restricted access and reduced opening times from Wednesday 6 January.
The building will be open for individual silent study (drop-in and bookable) for students on exempted courses and with an essential requirement to access study space and print book stock, those students classed as vulnerable, and for essential PGR and research activities only. Group study rooms will not be available. When visiting the library you must:

- Unless exempt, where a face covering at all times when in the building
- Observe social distancing and only use designated study spaces
The revised opening hours of the building will be:
- Monday – Friday: 10.00am – 4.00pm
- Saturday and Sunday: 12.00pm – 5.00pm
There will be no staffed services but a reception service will be available during the above hours. Our enquiry service will continue to operate online during the following times:
- Monday – Friday: 9.00am – 5.00pm
- Saturday and Sunday: 12.00pm – 5.00pm
From Thursday 7 January postal loans, click and collect services and digitisation requests will be extended to all University of Leicester staff and students to reduce the need for you to come onto campus. You can place requests via Library Search on the Library homepage.
Our Academic Skills Centre, research services, librarians and archives and special collections teams will continue providing support remotely. See contact details for these teams.
